Devious Journal EntryLauren and I are heading out the door to go to Comic Con in just a few.  I thought I'd drop a little update to let you all know where I'll be, just in case you want to say hi.
Saturday, July 14 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. (Room: 5AB) ---We'll be at the Disney Channel Television Animation Panel to talk about our upcoming show WANDER OVER YONDER and premiere a SPECIAL SNEAK PEEK produced just for Comic Con.
Saturday July 14, 2012 5:00pm - 6:00pm @ Sails Pavilion ---Then Lauren and I will be SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS.  Come on by and pick up a WANDER OVER YONDER PROMO POSTCARD and we'll be happy to sign it for you.

What A WeekendDefinitely had an awesome weekend and a panic-inducing Monday! Guess I'll start from the start, eh?
Friday was fantastic in that I reunited my trio of friends, namely Corey and Tina, to go see Wreck-It Ralph at our local theater. It was the first time I was able to get the three of us together since December of last year, and I was glad I did because we all bounce off of each other great when we hang out as duos, but we're at our best as a trio. There were actually several instances where we all did something at the same time which astounded me because I was all, "Whoa we're really in sync with each other!" Anyhoo, the movie was FANTASTIC and everyone needs to go see it as soon as they can because it's literally a strong contender for Best Animated Film of 2012. No joke. All three of us were blown away, which really speaks volumes about the film because we all have very different tastes. After the movie we all came up with nicknames for each other following along with the movie.

Fun Fact: Walt's Theme SongThe Sherman Brothers, who wrote nearly every classic Disney song that we know and love (it's a small world, The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room, Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, and many others) wrote the song "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" for the Carousel of Progress. But they also meant it as a sort of tribute to Walt. They said that the line "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, just a dream away" in particular was written with Walt in mind.

RIP Jerry NelsonI'm sure just about everybody who is a Muppet Freak knows by now that we just lost one of the original greats, but I wish to pay tribute to him here as well.
Jerry Nelson died two days ago at the age of 78, and although we knew he wasn't exactly in the best of health, and that he was living on borrowed time, it still seems surreal - too soon, too sudden - that he has left us now.
I think we all can agree with Jim's sentiments that Jerry was certainly responsible for some of the best singing the Muppets had to offer; I know it's going to be difficult to listen to some of those gems that Jerry had sung over the years, right up to his recent album Truro Daydreams (of which, Craig Shemin has videos of some of the recording sessions posted on YouTube).
I do hope that those who have the time will submit some of their tributes, memorials, dedications here, even if they aren't specifically Sesame oriented, Sesame Street is a part of the Muppet family, and it's a family that is no

Update and brighter days.Oh, wow, it's been awhile hasn't it? I'm sorry it's been so long.

I'm 23 today and it has been quite the roller coaster of a year. I graduated and I've been taking care of my mom since winter and now she's so much stronger and happier, her tumor has shrunk to half the size it was in February! Things are looking up, up , up!
My birthday wish is still the same; I just want you all to be happy and loved. I hope we can talk soon! Love you guys!

Came across this scripture, and it really said something to me.
If you look at the couple of verses following the above, you'll see that right after these verses that Simon Peter told Jesus he'd follow Him anywhere, then Jesus tells Peter that that very same day he would deny Him three times.
And what struck me then was how that despite the fact that Peter would, and did, deny Jesus, that despite that failure, God still was able to use Peter. Peter even went on to write some of the books of the New Testament.
Or rather, the relevance of that to us today--if we're living for God, Satan will try to keep us from doing that in any way he can. He will, as the verse says, try to "sift you as wheat".

DuckTales theme suddenly became even more epicAnyone remember the theme song of that AWESOME show known as "Duck Tales"? I absolutely loved it, so once I decided to listen to the theme again on Youtube.
Remember the last three verses of the song? "Not pony tales, or cotton tales, no, Duck Tales, woohoo....."
Let me repeat that, "Not pony tales, or cotton tales, no, Duck Tales, woohoo....."

I don't know WHY they put "pony tales" in there, or "cotton tales" (which probably means rabbit tales, since rabbit tails are described to look like cotton). But what I DO know is that the previous Generations of My Little Pony was made before Duck Tales, so could that be a "Take That" to those older Gens of MLP?
Well, nevermind that. I just found it interesting that those lyrics can still apply now, what with the whole Friendship is Magic thing now.

Mirror Mirror (2012): A Movie Worth Watching!I went to a premiere of "Mirror Mirror" today. My mom had managed to get free passes to see it and so we went.
When I first heard about "Mirror Mirror", I thought "Oh great, another goodie- goodie movie where the girl gets everything".
Boy was I wrong! It was hilarious and caused lots of problems for Snow White! (But you have to see it because I'm not spoiling anything!)
The whole theater was rolling wit laughter. Plus, no one was bootlegging it. Everyone was yelling at people before the title card came on to "turn off the bloody phone!" I'm not lying! That was what some of the people (and 4-year-olds ) were crying out.
There was also free promo things, like a poster and (compact) mirror and a movie storybook.
One thing I must say though is it may not be suitable for children 8 and under due to some (semi-) suspenseful moment and a lot of rude humor.... hilarious, but rude all the same

Lauren and I have donated a couple of pieces in a recent animation art auction to benefit fellow animation artist Joey Adams and his family at this time of need. To read about their story click here.

Lauren has donated four Pony pics, and I have donated an original Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends Comic Strip, two of my original pencil drawings from The Powerpuff Girls Golden Book, and an original page from my Wander Over Yonder Sketchbook.
